WhiteBoard CGI has an advantage over email in that it consolidates the thoughts and instructions of its users onto one solid web platform which is always there no matter where in the world you may be.

The CGI has two modes of operation, User and Administrator. The User is the member of staff who wishes to read and add to the WhiteBoard. The WhiteBoard can be fully password protected (if you feel that it's necessary) so that to use it you need to be added by the Administrator and issued with a password. The Administrator is the webmaster who will maintain the WhiteBoard, fixing spelling mistakes, changing the general settings of the WhiteBoard, adding new users, removing old ones etc. and generally making sure that the WhiteBoard is running smoothly.

The WhiteBrd.exe CGI program is a small stand-alone computer program about 100 kilobytes total size (which is very small). It must by copied to a directory on the web server called cgi-bin (or whichever directory has been assigned to run CGI programs), but it can also be copied to a directory UNDER the cgi-bin directory and in this way you can have several different WhiteBoards! As with any CGI programs from Farstand, the WhiteBoard CGI will work only on the Windows platform. It should work on any web server software and it should work without any problems side by side with any other software that you are running on your server such as Active Server Pages etc.
